Hello there!
I’m Mal, a down-to-earth Londoner of Sri Lankan heritage who is proud to be a photographer amidst a corporate career. I love all types of photography and in my earlier years, I focussed on landscapes and places, exploring different perspectives through my camera lens from glorious sceneries to street photography. I learnt various camera techniques including composition, capturing movement, close ups and also night photography. However, in recent years I have found a greater sense of connection and story-telling in portrait and wedding photography.
As someone who was trained as an accountant, I spent a large number of years thinking I was not creative and although that is a huge untruth, it was photography that helped draw this out of me. I am grateful I can now apply the best of my methodical side, in terms of framing of a right shot, but also allow my creative side free reign.
My mission is to capture the emotions, feelings and special moments in my photography but what is most important is putting you at ease, so you can be yourself. I have a relaxed approach to any photoshoot and happy directing those who may feel uncomfortable or camera-shy, into natural and flattering positions!
